Kazakhstan - The Farming and Processing of Commercial Fish of Valuable Species

Growing demand for fish according to OECD and FAO forecasts, we will face global increase in fish consumption in total. Compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in 2019-2025 will be 1.8 percent. Thus, by 2027 fish consumption will reach 21.3 kg per capita (2018: 20.3kg per capita). Local producers covered 45.3% of the local market in 2019. Export development Kazakhstan also exports organic fish products. In 2019, Kazakhstan fish export reached 30 thousand tones. This increase was due to the start of large deliveries to Russia, which is the major buyer of Kazakhstan fish. As of 2017, over 25% of total exports have been delivered to China.
