Jones Day was founded in Cleveland, Ohio in 1893 and today, with 42 offices in Asia, America, Europe, Middle East and Australia and 2,400 lawyers worldwide, is one of the largest law firms in the globe.

Established in 1986, Jones Day’s Hong Kong office became the first branch office of a U.S. law firm to practice Hong Kong law in 1996. Today, our Hong Kong office comprises of approximately 50 lawyers, the majority of whom are admitted both in Hong Kong and at least one other jurisdiction, and who advise local, regional, and international clients in Hong Kong, China, and Asia. Our lawyers advise our clients on a broad range of legal issues including trade and investment, commercial property, construction, corporate and commercial, corporate finance, dispute resolution, employment, energy and projects, insolvency and corporate restructuring, IP, joint ventures, lending / structured finance, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, U.S. securities and venture capital, and private equity.

We have a strong Projects & Infrastructure team and a large Construction practice. Our attorneys in the projects team regularly represent developers, sponsors, equity investors, contractors, and suppliers, as well as lenders, underwriters, and other financing entities. The representation of clients on both sides of the transaction has given us keen insight into the issues involved in financing complex, capital-intensive projects. Our construction team serves an extensive and diversified group of clients active in large-scale international construction and engineering projects. Our lawyers advise on every aspect of the architectural, engineering, and construction process, from planning and design to financing, through bidding and award, during construction and after project completion.
