ZAMBOECOZONE San Ramon Newport

About this project
The ZAMBOECOZONE San Ramon Newport is a greenfield port development envisioned to serve the growing agro-industrial Zamboanga Peninsula. The facility aims to serve not only the existing industries in Zamboanga City, but eventually grow as a transshipment hub, linking the BIMP-EAGA to further parts of Oceania, as it directly faces the maritime highway along the Sulu Sea. Initial traffic is expected from the spill-over of cargo traffic from the Zamboanga City Base Port, primarily from the nearby sardine canning factories. It can also handle cargo witihin the Zamboanga Peninsula and neighboring provinces headed to major shipping ports in the country and abroad. The 580-meter total berth length is estimated to accommodate New Panamax-sized vessels of up to 7000 TEUs capacity. The site is also naturally deep, which allows the access of such vessels without the need for frequent dredging to maintain its depth.
