Vietnam - Tuyen Quang-Phu Tho Expressway PPP
A public-private partnership (PPP) to build a VND 3.27trn (USD 140m) motorway to connect Yen Son district in Tuyen Quang city of northeastern Tuyen Quang province to Doan Hung district of Phu Tho province, Vietnam. The project will be carried out under a build-operate-transfer (BOT) model. The 40.2km four-lane motorway will be located close to Vietnam's northern border with China's Yunnan province. It will interchange with the Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway that ends at the China-Vietnam border. About 11.63km of the expressway's 40.2km stretch will be located in Tuyan Quang province and the remainder will run across Phu Tho. The private investor will build, finance, operate and maintain the four-lane highway, which will be designed for speeds up to 80km/h. The project aims to improve the inter-provincial road transport network and alleviate traffic congestion of the National Route 2 that connects the capital city of Hanoi with northeastern Ha Giang province bordering China. Both Phu Tho and Tuyen Quang are popular with international tourists, especially those from China.
