U-Tapao Airport City
About this project
The U-Tapao Aviation City is one of the key Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) projects of Thailand, and is strategically located at the focal point of the Belt & Road Initiative (BRI). EEC region is part of the stops of the Pan-Asia High Speed Rail Network, which will connect China with 7 countries in South East Asia. The project enjoys seamless connectivity via several expressways and motorways, and benefited from an existing industry and innovative infrastructure and ecosystem. The consortium of Bangkok Airways, BTS Group and STECON provides a strong synergy of financial track records and technical knowhow to ensure the project a success, with customized priviliges and special business promotion schemes by the EEC Policy Committee upon request. The project will consist of an international airport terminal on a site area of 400 Rai (65 Ha), an air cargo & logistic area on a site area of 300 Rai (48 Ha), and a mega integrated Airport City covering a total area of 1000 Rai (162 Ha). Total investment value of the project is about THB 300 Bil (USD 9.2 Bil), and is expected to be operational by 2025.
