Grão-Pará Maranhão has as its main enterprise, the Alcântara Port Terminal (TPA), a deep-water port located on Cajual Island in the municipality of Alcântara, Maranhão, and the Maranhão Railroad (EF-317), of approximately 520 km that will connect the Alcântara Port Terminal to Açailândia- MA, allowing access to the grain and iron-ore cargo from the Center-West regions through the North-South Railroad (FNS).
