SEC/SPPC - Taibah Two Smaller Combined Cycle Power Plants (Taiba IPP 1 & 2)

The project involves the construction of two smaller combined-cycle power plants each with a capacity of 1,800MW in Taiba, Saudi Arabia. Earlier the project was announced as a gas-fired independent power plant (IPP) with a capacity of 3600MW. In December 2022, Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) announced the ‏re-tendering of Taiba and Qassim IPP projects into four smaller combined cycle power projects each with a capacity of 1800MW with provision for Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) readiness.
