Philippines - Ormoc City Energy-from-Waste project

About this project

A project to construct an Energy-from-Waste facility in Ormoc City, Philippines

The port city of Ormoc is the largest on Leyte island by land area. It supplies a large part of the country’s power needs with the Tongonan Geothermal Power Plant. The waste generated by Ormoc City is about 120 metric tonnes per day.

The proposed project is part of the six priority projects identified in the city’s masterplan for the sustainable urban infrastructure development (SUID) funded by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA). The Philippines government laid out a plan to carry out some of the projects as PPPs.
