About this project
The project aims to implement a smart city traffic management platform by using the CATCH-ALL technology of ISI, Inc. The official project name is ITWATCHER. This project will be implemented in General Santos City, South Cotabato, Philippines. The local government unit (LGU) will deploy CCTV camera networks in highly congested areas in the city. The CATCH-ALL software services will be integrated into the camera system to provide the video processing and analytics needs of the LGU. General Santos City, dubbed the Tuna Capital of the Philippines, is a highly urbanized city in the SOCCSKSARGEN Region, the country’s southern gateway through the Makar Port and its international airport. One of Mindanao’s Metropolitan Development hubs boasts of a fast-growing economy and rapid urbanization with a population of around 697,315 people and identified as the 15th most populous city in the Philippines according to the 2020 Census. Due to its fast-paced development as a major urban area, General Santos City faces significant urbanization problems, particularly traffic congestion. The introduction and implementation of an intelligent transportation system (ITS) and smart city technologies aim to improve safety, mobility, efficiency and ease traffic congestion.
