Indonesia - Semarang City Waste to Energy (WtE) PPP Project

The site (Tempat Pembuangan Akhir/TPA) is located in Jatibarang in Semarang City, Central Java. The estimated area for WtE plant is approx. 4 hectares. The plant can process around 1,000 tonnes of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) per day. The total amount of MSW generated in Semarang in 2017 is estimated at 1,022 tonnes/day. Based on the current solid waste disposal, TPA Jatibarang will only be sufficient to accommodate the incoming waste for another two years.

The Semarang Municipal Government is currently preparing the Semarang City WtE Project (or Project) to be procured under a PPP scheme with 20 years of PPP period plus 3 years construction period.
