Lanzhou New Area’s Implementation Plan for Participating in the Belt and Road Initiative
30 Oct 2015
The Implementation Plan of the Lanzhou New Area for Participating in the Belt and Road Initiative is the overall blueprint for delivering China’s Belt and Road initiative, specifically the Gansu section of the Silk Road Economic Belt. It promotes comprehensive exchange and co-operation between the Lanzhou New Area and the countries along the Belt and Road routes in a bid to gradually establish the Lanzhou New Area as a strategic launch pad for China’s westward programme of opening-up. The Implementation Plan will involve the establishment of co-operative manufacturing bases for industries in the petrochemicals, equipment manufacturing, electronic information, biomedicine, new materials, modern logistics and modern agriculture sectors. Primarily, it will focus on eight industrial parks and be predicated on the sustained innovation of systems and mechanisms, as well as the creation of an environment favourable for both businesses and investment.
