National Federation of Rural Cooperative of Indonesia (INDUK KUD) is the largest agr icultural and fisher y cooperative organization in Indonesia and the world. Founded in 1973, the cooperative consists of 13 million members from 9437 branches across 27 provinces in Indonesia. It has more than 60 million family members in the organization, which is about 25% of the country population. INDUK KUD's mission is to help the co-operative movement expand joint business relationships, ensure creation and implementation of a business climate that supports co-operative expansion and development. It provides education and training for the farmers, initiate sustainable rural development and improve the livelihood of the rural communities.
