Carbon World Limited is a green technology company based in Hong Kong, and is committed to solve the waste management problem confronting Hong Kong and the region through its innovative reverse vending platform. It is co-founded by Andy Ho and Gary Wong who are veterans in reverse vending, industrial automation and IoT solution respectively. They share the same philosophy to help build a better living environment for the smart city. So far we are the only IoT tech startup focusing on reverse vending that is qualified and admitted into Cyberport. Our innovation has also been well recognized by winning the Smart Environment Award in the first Hong Kong Smart City Awards 2018 organized by etnet.

Axon Technology Limited is dedicated to the construction of smart city, combining artificial intelligence (AI), big data, cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT) and other technology system solutions and operational services.

Since founded, Axon Technology Limited has continuously invested in technological innovation and product research and development, has a first-class R&D team, and has worked closely with other technology companies to establish a collaborative team to build a perfect market network of the company. Its business has gradually penetrated into urban public safety, data center, transportation, medical, construction and education. Film Players Limited was founded by Toby So, Tak Ching in mid 2016 and joined the family of HKSTP in November 2016. Mr. So found the opportunity of smart film, he thinks it will the next game changer. Our company always aims at disrupting the smart glass industry, which the products are expensive and limited in functionality. More than just being a simple curtain replacement, we excavate the potential of Smart Film. Film Players Limited is one of the few companies in the world which uses Smart Films to provide display solutions. We make things happen from ideas, concepts into live and reality.

One big differentiator of us from Smart Glass is that, our product is just a film, like a sticker. You only need to stick Smart Films on any glass you want, the glass will instantly turn into a Smart Glass. No glass need to be replaced or dumped, and it saved a lot of installation and maintenance cost. All these makes our products more affordable, smarter and better.

Smart Film's main function is for Privacy. Using a remote or mobile app, you can adjust the opacity and transparency of the glass. It suits the usage in replacing window curtain, in bathroom or in office's conference room. Our products can also be a display module, showcasing logos, signage and useful information on the glass. Imagine waking up with the instant weather information and time on your windows. We believe that our products can be applied to every corners of this world and make this world smarter and greener.

BluePin is a startup formed by a group of Hong Kong researchers. The core product is to provide effective indoor positioning systems (IPS) for different venues, especially exhibitions. The system we built is low cost, easy to install and providing high precision positioning with good user experience. 

There is basic need for people knowing their position in indoor environment (especially for the place first time they are visiting) and find the way to reach the destination.  However, the present IPSs performance is not good that the experience cannot meet user’s expectation.  BluePin is able to provide customers with effective end-to-end solution in terms of cost and user experience.

BluePin IPS uses a self-developed fusion algorithm (including optimized beacon settings, multilateral positioning, handling interference, changing floors and stabilization etc.). (US Provisional Patent Application Number 62/912,674).

Avaron Technologies Limited is founded since July 2018. Its executive management have decades of valuable experience in optical sensing technologies and have developed smart condition monitoring systems in railway and structural health monitoring applications. The core business of Avaron is to offer one-stop service using local disruptive technologies and complete solutions with AI-based analytics to address the underlying needs on condition based and predictive maintenance for smart and green building to enhance asset’s operation and maintenance efficiency, service quality, reliability, and availability. Avaron employs the truly cost-effective integrated solutions with green technologies of which proprietary Smart Neural Optical Sensing Network system is developed with no electrical power required to measure a wide range of parameters with enhanced sensitivity over conventional sensors to accomplish effective health monitoring of the mission critical components applied to lift, escalator, HVAC air-conditioning and fire detection. Three smart monitoring system products (Lift-SenTM,ESC-SenTM, HVAC-SenTM) have been successfully deployed in Hong Kong government buildings for future development on smart predictive fault alarm system network for citywide monitoring using AI and machine learning technologies .

AppTech was founded in 2012 which located at Hong Kong Science Park, we provide Video Analytic, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data platform services. Utilizing Mobile App and Web applications as front end, we create tailormade solution and generate analytical reports for businesses to improve efficiency and accuracy while minimizing processing time and human resources.
 

Sino Group launched "Sino lnno Lab" in October 2018 in a further effort to support Hong Kong's innovative ecosystem and growth into an international innovation hub through providing a sandbox platform for start-ups to test out inventions and innovations. In addition to encouraging development of PropTech (property technology) products and solutions, Sino lnno Lab enables exploring other technologies, such as Artifical Intelligence, robotics, big data and blockchain, for future applications. Riding on the success of Sino Inno Lab, Sino can play a key role in helping the late-stage startups from Hong Kong and overseas to gain access to the China market. Therefore, a new initiative "Sino Acceleration Program in GBA" is being planned to respond to the need of matured start-up companies for a strong and trustworthy platform to scale up their business in Greater Bay Area.

Mictronics Co. Ltd founders, Mr. Jackson Chack and Dr. Albert So, started with a vision to research and develop products and technology to contribute towards a sustainable world. Through years of dedication and research, they created an award winning invention, the “Fan-coil unit that demonstrates the advantages of saving energy and facilitates maintenance.”

The Mictronics’ Fan Coil Unit’s primary feature, consistent with the founder’s vision, is its green and energy saving properties. Through a unique application of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), electricity consumption is reduced by up to 80% compared to traditional AC or DC motors. This is a significant reduction, considering fan coil units typically contribute up to 23% of a building’s total electricity consumption. 

Another important feature of the Mictronics’ Fan Coil Unit is its noise reduction. Due to Mictronics’ PMSM motor, noise levels are also reduced by 3dB, which to the human ear, is half compared to fan coil units of the past. 

Additionally, apart from the technological improvements of the motor, a user friendly design feature was implemented for easy maintenance. The Mictronics’ Fan Coil Unit features an extra removable back panel between the body and bowler which has saved workers half of the usual annual maintenance time.

Finally, the use of high-quality materials and efficiency of the motor lead to an 8-year life expectancy, compared to the usual model.
