Project Overview The Panay River Basin Integrated Development Project (PRBIDP) will serve 15 municipalities and one component city of Capiz, and the adjacent municipalities in the Province of Iloilo, namely Lemery, San Rafael and Bingawan. Based on the original feasibility study (FS), the estimated cost of the PRBIDP amounts to PhP20.786 billion. This amount will be recalculated upon completion of the detailed engineering design. It was favorably endorsed by the Regional Development Council, VI and the NIA Board in 2017. Project preparations commenced on the same year, and will be completed in six to eight years upon start of construction. Main Infrastructure Components High Reservoir Dam and appurtenant structures. This will be located within Barangay Acuña, Tapaz, Capiz and will serve as a multi-purpose dam for (1) power generation of 18 megawatts of hydro-electric power to the host province, (2) floodway system to help mitigate flooding downstream, and (3) allocate 3 m3 of bulk water supply in Roxas City and neighboring towns. Afterbay Dam. The Afterbay Dam will be located 13.6 kilometers downstream from the High Dam, within Barangay Garcia, Tapaz, Capiz. It will serve as a regulating dam, controlling the water level of the reservoir and its release to the main canals. Road networks.
