NDRC Approves Infrastructure Projects Serving Belt and Road

China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) approved on 15 September 2015 the work commencement and construction plans for six projects, which are the fifth batch of projects given the green light since early September. Up to now, a total of 19 projects have been approved in September, with a total investment approaching Rmb320 billion. The six projects approved in the latest round are all expressway construction projects, with a total investment estimated at Rmb16.173 billion. They cover the building of expressway networks in places including Anhui, Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang, all serving the Belt and Road initiative.
