Hong Kong’s “connector” role to ASEAN through the recent free trade agreement is a very important factor for Belt and Road investment, according to Shinta Widjaja Kamdani of Indonesia’s Sintesa Group. With Sintesa Group’s construction of a new eco-tourism zone and Indonesia’s increasing demand for public-private partnerships, she says at the Belt and Road Summit 2018 that Hong Kong is a bridge to such projects with the Chinese mainland.
