Joint Ministerial Statement: Fostering Pragmatic Cooperation towards the Future of GMS Economic Corridors

The Seventh Economic Corridors Forum was held on 11 June 2015. Ministers and senior officials attending the Forum agreed on measures to promote the development of economic corridors, facilitate cross-border transport and trade, and enhance cooperation and private sector participation. In a joint statement, ministers and senior officials from the six GMS countries called for a Transport and Trade Facilitation Action Program in order to enhance the cross-border flow of goods and people, as well as a coordinated approach to developing urban areas throughout the region. They also endorsed the Framework on GMS Cross-border E-commerce Cooperation, which seeks to advance the development of cross-border e-commerce through shared consumer markets.
