China-Greece Joint Statement on Strengthening a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership

During the official visit of the Greek Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, to China (2-6 July), he agreed with his mainland counterparts on the need to establish closer bilateral economic and trade co-operation. China is now set to encourage its business community to import more high quality standardised Greek products, especially agricultural items, foods and luxury goods. Against the backdrop of the joint development of the Belt and Road Initiative, the two countries agreed that the EU-China connectivity platform will bring about new opportunities for both parties in a number of areas, including marine and land transportation, ports, and services.
