Belt and Road Vision and Actions for Co-operation in Metrology
21 Jun 2016

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) has issued its Belt and Road Vision and Actions for Co-operation in Metrology as a way of promoting a high standard of large-scale pragmatic co-operation among the countries along the proposed Belt and Road routes. It is hoped that this will strengthen co-operation in the field of metrology between the governments of all the Belt and Road countries, while also establishing an inter-governmental information exchange and communication mechanism in the sector as a means of boosting transparency with regard to the prevailing laws and regulations. Joint efforts will also be made to conduct studies into the metrological systems of different countries, facilitate metrological comparisons and streamline the process of international peer evaluation. Steps will also be taken to advance the process of ensuring international mutual recognition in the sector as a way of raising the overall level of trade facilitation.
