Chembe Multi-facility Economic Zone (CMFEZ)

The CMFEZ is a Special Economic Zone established under Government policy to promote investment in the manufacturing sector. A total of 900 hactares of land has been reserved and planned for private sector investment to develope the Zone by putting up the necessary infrastructure and having other investors to set up factories. The zone is situated in Chembe District in Luapula Province at the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), a large market where products from the Zone can be exported to. The Zone is expected to have the following facilities: Manufacturing Park, a Solar Farm, a Knowledge Park, IT & Electronics Park, Logistics Park, a Medical Park, an Innovation and Incubation Centre and a Smart City.
