Thailand’s Digital Industry and Innovation Promoted Zone (EECd)

EECd is Thailand’s digital industry and innovation promoted zone. The project goal is to holistically promote the development of digital technology and innovation which will elevate the competitiveness of Thailand’s digital industry. EECd will be the playground and, specifically, the regulatory sandbox to accelerate new technology adoption such as 5G technology in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) area. The project promotes the cloud services and data centers in EEC to facilitate the common data lake. These digital infrastructures provide the platform and innovation ecosystem for businesses to pilot their ideas and successfully commercialize. Startups and established companies can work together in technology areas that leverage the region’s strengths in agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism, such as smart factory, smart agriculture, and others.
