UAE - Abu Dhabi Green Diesel Project

Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (TAKREER) plans to undertake the development of a sulphur free gas oil (SFGO) unit at the Ruwais Refinery in view of the increasing global demand for cleaner fuels. The plant will be built in the Ruwais Industrial Complex, 250 kilometre (km) west of Abu Dhabi city. TAKREER operates two refineries - at Ruwais and Umm al Nar. The Ruwais refinery has a total processing capacity of 120000 barrels a day (b/d) of crude oil and the end products include LPG, gasoline, naphtha, kerosene, gas oil and sulphur. The Umm al Nar refinery has a total capacity of 85000 b/d of crude oil and mainly produces LPG, naphtha, unleaded gasoline, aviation turbine kerosene, kerosene, gas oil, straight run residue and liquid sulphur.
