Saudi Arabia - PP10 Power Plant Extension

The rapid rise in urbanisation and the Government's aggressive industrial modernisation policy has put immense strain on the Kingdom's utilities. With the Kingdom's electricity consumption forecasted to grow at the rate of 5.5 per cent annually, SEC (Saudi Electric Company) has embarked on a major expansion drive of its existing utilities to address the problem. The current profile covers extension of PP10 power plant. Under the expansion, 700MW will be added to the existing capacity; bringing the total generation capacity to 3700 megawatts (MW).
